This article comprises three sortable tables of major mountain peaks of Canada.
Topographic elevation is the vertical distance above the reference geoid, a precise mathematical model of the Earth's sea level as an equipotential gravitational surface. Topographic prominence is the elevation difference between the summit and the highest or key col to a higher summit. Topographic isolation is the minimum great circle distance to a point of higher elevation.
This article defines a significant summit as a summit with at least 100Â metres (328.1Â feet) of topographic prominence, and a major summit as a summit with at least 500Â metres (1640.4Â feet) of topographic prominence. An ultra-prominent summit is a summit with at least 1500Â metres (4921.3Â feet) of topographic prominence. There are 142 ultra-prominent summits in Canada.
Highest major summits
The following sortable table lists the 50 highest mountain peaks of Canada with at least 500 metres (1,640.4Â ft) of topographic prominence.
The first 19 of these summits have at least 4,000 metres (13,123.4Â ft) of topographic elevation and at least 500Â metres of topographic prominence. See the Highest mountain peaks of Canada for a table of the 100 highest summits of Canada with at least 500Â metres of topographic prominence.
Most prominent summits
The following sortable table lists the 50 most topographically prominent mountain peaks of Canada.
See the List of Ultras of Canada for a table of all 142 summits with at least 1,500 metres (4,921.3Â ft) of topographic prominence.
Most isolated major summits
The following sortable table lists the 50 most topographically isolated mountain peaks of Canada with a topographic prominence of at least 500 metres (1,640.4Â ft).
See the Most isolated mountain peaks of Canada for a table of the 100 most isolated summits of Canada with at least 500Â metres of topographic prominence.
